As the Scheduling Leader, you will be responsible for the scheduling of capital programs and projects, in addition to ensuring that all processes, information, and tools are available to drive the timely delivery of programs and projects. You will ensure the efficient use of resources, coordination of program schedules, reporting to leadership and the public on progress and trends, implementation of departmental plans and priorities, and the planning and execution of many complex portfolio schedules. Primary duties include:

Assign, supervise and review schedules and other work deliverables produced by the scheduling team for all portfolios. Conduct quality checks and identify and address errors or abnormalities in scheduling deliverables. Produce executive-level reporting and ensure accuracy for both internal clients and the public. Lead and coordinate regular multi-departmental reviews of integrated program and portfolio schedules. Provide analysis and reporting to capital delivery teams on project and portfolio schedule progress and variances. Develop and implement scheduling practices, processes and tools to support the timely delivery of projects across multiple project delivery departments in the Organization. Promote scheduling practices across the Organization and consult Leadership on related topics. Provide leadership for a team of staff, including resourcing decisions and coordination, hiring, succession planning, training and mentoring to staff.


Qualifications

A degree and at least 7 years of scheduling experience, including project and portfolio schedule development, monitoring and control, development of schedule bases, updating and tracking schedules, and resource loading. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. A Project Management or Scheduling accreditation is required, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP). Proficiency in Scheduling software (such as Primavera 6 and Microsoft Projects) and Microsoft Excel is essential. The successful candidate will have strong collaboration, customer service, organization, and communication skills, along with excellent attention to detail. Must possess the ability to work independently and balance competing priorities under tight timelines while also working collectively with multiple counterparts.

This position may be eligible to work from home as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. Such arrangements are based on the operational requirements of the position and employee suitability and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Level M1 $113,400 - 141,700 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
