This role is an exciting new opportunity within our company we are looking to grow this department. This role will be reporting to our materials manager.
Position Overview
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production and project scheduling activities across departments. This role plays a key part in maintaining on-time delivery, improving workflow efficiency, and ensuring clear communication between Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Service.
Key Responsibilities:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Develop, manage, and maintain detailed production and project schedules.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, Materials, Purchasing, Engineering, and Logistics) to ensure schedule accuracy and feasibility.
Monitor progress daily and adjust schedules to reflect changes in material availability, labor capacity, or customer priorities.
Lead daily or weekly production meetings to review schedule adherence and resolve conflicts.
Track performance metrics such as on-time delivery, lead times, and production throughput.
Communicate schedule updates and risks to stakeholders clearly and promptly.
Support continuous improvement efforts related to scheduling accuracy and production flow.
Mentor or guide junior schedulers and coordinators as needed.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in production scheduling, coordination, or planning (manufacturing or project-based environment preferred).
Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems (experience with JD Edwards, SAP, or similar a plus).
Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and scheduling tools (MS Project or equivalent).
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
