POSITION OVERVIEW

Caltrax is a Calgary-based leading full-service railcar repair provider, with a facility strategically located in Calgary, Lethbridge, Sarnia, and Montreal. At these locations we offer comprehensive railcar repair services encompassing interior lining inspections, cleaning, and mechanical repairs.

The Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling the movement of rail cars from arrival to dispatching for Sarnia, Lachine, Raymond and Mobile locations. This position involves cross functional alignment, strategic thinking, and efficient planning to ensure a streamline movement of railcars end-to-end process.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES



Work directly with the operation teams (Sarnia, Lachine, Lethbridge, Mobile Repair) to plan and schedule the most efficient end-to-end workflow. Facilitate daily, weekly and monthly communication - including: daily production meetings and reporting requirements. Daily maintenance of our current and future planning and scheduling tools, including Railcar RX, Access Database, and Sharepoint. Actively participate in car flow planning, including regular assessment of direct operational hours. Includes weekly Labor Utilization & Efficiency Reporting Notification of delays due to inventory, personnel and/or other factors with direct communication to Management Look for process improvements in scheduling based on inventory, hours on cars etc. Troubleshoot and implement an action plan to address problems or concerns Control and communicate a master schedule for all locations Daily measures to ensure we are meeting production targets Utilize and make improvements to tracking programs achieve business targets Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS



Proven experience with customer interactions, organizing resources, and problem-solving. Strong knowledge of the industry standards, AAR regulations, Caltrax specific procedures, customer procedures, and customer requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate employees. Excellent time management and organizational skills Must be able to work independently to problem solve Proficiency with RX Railcar Software and Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
