About the role
Finding better ways(TM) to provide the materials the world needs.
We are looking for an ODS Scheduler to develop an executable schedule for weekly, major and large scale shutdowns based on maintenance and life of asset strategy. You will apply Lean Principles to ensure shutdown schedules are optimized from a Safety, Schedule, Cost, and Quality perspective.
These roles follow a Monday to Friday schedule, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Reporting to the Maintenance Planning & Engineering manager and working in a challenging and exciting environment, within the ODS Team, you will:
Contribute to Zero Harm by applying the relevant Rio Tinto safety systems and lead by example in achieving IOC's goals
Review internal and external labor, equipment availability, and capacity.
Analyze material availability and status.
Develop and maintain maintenance schedules (critical path, task interdependencies, labor requirements, materials, shared equipment)
Engage and align with internal contractors/suppliers
Forecast and manage parts and materials for planned work
Confirm and schedule resources for planned events
Communicate with key stakeholders and business systems
Validate constraints and update delivery locations
It will also be beneficial if you have:
Lead resource allocation discussions with stakeholders
Collect and analyze work management data for review and continuous improvement
Resolve scheduling conflicts and incorporate feedback.
Close out related contractor requirements and payments
What you'll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Bachelor's degree or Trade Certification in a relevant field (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) would be considered an asset
Proven experience in maintenance scheduling/planning within the mining or heavy industry.
Proficiency in SAP
Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel/Project).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Mechanical aptitude.
Experience working with SAP
