Position Summary
Queens Manor is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Full-Time Scheduler. The Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate staff schedules that ensure appropriate staffing levels across all departments. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills to effectively coordinate shifts, manage staff availability, and respond to last-minute scheduling changes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly staff schedules in accordance with operational needs and union agreements.
Ensure adequate staffing levels are met for all shifts, including coverage for vacations, sick leave, and other absences.
Communicate schedule changes promptly and professionally to staff and the Director of Care.
Maintain accurate records of staff availability, time off requests, and shift swaps.
Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing requirements and resolve scheduling conflicts.
Utilize scheduling software to input and manage schedule data.
Monitor attendance and report concerns to management as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business administration, human resources, or a related field is an asset.
Previous experience in staff scheduling, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Strong organizational and administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and scheduling software (e.g., SSC)
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and professional approach.
