Scale Technician Apprentice (Approved Measurement Canada Inspector)
Dynamic Scale Company is a weigh scale company that services, sells and calibrates scales throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and BC. As a Scale Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration and service of weighing equipment. Technicians will be working on both mechanical and electronic scales in various industries and environments from grocery stores to Industrial sites.
As these skills are obtained you will be trained as a Measurement Canada(MC) Inspector. It is the Inspectors responsibility to ensure devices are working within there allowable tolerances and issue certificates on behalf of MC. You would be required to attend the weeklong NAWDS course at a MC office, after which you would be tested by a MC Inspector on multiple scale types in the field.
Responsibilities:
Installation, inspection, calibration, repair and maintenance of industrial weighing and measuring equipment
Travel to customers sites, sometimes staying overnight
Complete service documents and test reports for review with customers and management
Provide consultation and quotations on product and services
Participate in the marketing and sales effort to expand service revenues
Compliance with all Dynamic Scale Company policies
Requirements:
Ability to successfully complete Measurement Canada's Prerequisite exam (https://ised-isde.canada.ca/site/measurement-canada/en/national-technical-training-program-nttp-examples-prerequisite-exam-questions)
Current H2S, Standard First Aid, WHMIS would be a benefit
Must be able to lift/maneuver 50+ lbs
Basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance and electronics with ability to work outdoors.
Basic knowledge of computers and software
