Reporting to site supervision, the role of Leadhand Scaffolder will be expected to start in September working 10 hours per day on a 4/3 shift. This position will perform Lead Hand scaffolding and carpenter duties to support our client located in Joffre, AB. Candidates must live within an 80 km radius of the plant site. All candidates must have CSTS 2020, Fall Protection and Confined Space tickets.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Journeyperson Scaffold Builder qualification
  • Foreman OR Lead Hand experience
  • Carpentry Experience
  • Qualified to inspect and tag scaffolding accordingly
  • Consideration given to person capable of advancing to scaffold lead hand, must be willing to accept responsibility in Lead Hand\'s absence
  • Able to safely erect, maintain, repair, and modify all types of industrial scaffolding with minimal supervision (i.e. towers, cantilevers, hanging scaffolds)
  • Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be receptive to working with short notice for call outs and over time as per request
  • Joffre site plant experience an asset
  • High commitment to safety, own and others
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Alberta Drivers\' License
  • Able to meet requirements of Physical Demands Analysis
  • Achieve 100% completion of mandatory Quinn and client training
  • Pre-access Drug & Alcohol test
  • Training Required: CSTS 2020, Fall Arrest (full), Confined space
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • Safely erect, maintain, repair, and modify all types of industrial scaffolding with minimal supervision (i.e. towers, cantilevers, hanging scaffolds)
  • Estimate scaffolding jobs effectively
  • Identify ideal type of scaffolding material to use for the job (i.e. frame, tube & clamp, system)
  • Receive permits for required tasks (i.e. pending qualification as a permit receiver) and complete all scaffolding checklists prior to builds
  • Effectively communicate scope of work to scaffolding crews
  • Review Site Safe Work Procedures associated with the job prior to task execution
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of current scaffold material.
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings and conduct Pre-Task Analysis to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Correct unsafe acts and bring unsafe conditions to the attention of immediate supervisor
  • Work within a multi trade environment
  • Maintain relations with client and co-workers through effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Assist with other duties as required
