About the Role



The Saw Technician will be responsible for all the components of completing a Manufacturing Order accurately. This role will ensure the saws are maintained and calibrated to guarantee optimal performance and product quality. Additionally, the Saw/Shipper & Receiver will be responsible for scheduling and controlling incoming/outgoing shipments to/from customers, vendors, suppliers etc. Ensuring incoming and outgoing materials are in good condition and tracked in inventory accurately.

Duties and Responsibilities





Saw Technician


Reading and understanding the specifications on the Manufacturing Order including: Matching Heat numbers to Material Test Report Verifying required dimensions to Material Test Report Identifying the required cut length measurement and selecting the suitable saw Performing pre-use inspections of all machinery and tools to be used Measuring and cutting raw steel accurately to ensure the appropriate length requirements from the Manufacturing Order Regularly operating equipment (Forklift, CNC Band, CNC Rotating Saw, Overhead Crane and rigging) Positioning forklift baskets in the correct location Ensuring all requirements for shipping are met including: Securing parts onto a pallet Ensuring materials do not exceed weight limits Ensuring the correct documentation accompanies materials Safely loading materials on the truck Responsible for understanding the CNC saws maximum capabilities




Shipping and Receiving


Identifying parts from quality control that are ready for shipment Responsible for creating labels, packing slips, and prepping tools to ensure their readiness for shipment and transportation Loading all prepared shipments safely onto the truck and to the requirements of each driver Receiving, picking, and sorting office supplies, parts, and tools Confirms all proper documentation arrived with incoming materials Conduct pre-use inspection of mobile equipment Operating heavy duty forklift and combi lift Manual and mechanical lifting/moving equipment, materials, and supplies Packaging outgoing products to corresponding specifications




Other Duties


Routine housekeeping around the shop Occasional photocopying, printing and other duties as required



Qualifications and Experience




1-2 years shipping and receiving experience preferred Display working knowledge and previous experience operating Band saw, Cold saw, Forklift Safely operate a forklift as per manufacturers parameters Understand basket weight restrictions for equal weight distribution and safe lifting techniques Able to communicate effectively with employees and supervisors Able to work both independently and as a part of a team Able to lift heavy parts up to 23 kg (50lbs)
