Missions and Responsibilities

The primary function and purpose of this position is to generate profitable sales growth for the in accordance with the corporate sales vision and the coordination of the sales activities of the department. The incumbent is responsible for coaching and developing the satellite team and for training programs, while promoting ALC\'s quality and safety objectives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sells and negotiates: Assumes responsibility for forecasting and growing satellite sales. Ensures the implementation of pricing and discounting policies. Maintains existing territories and seeks out new prospects.

2. Coordinates sales and pricing management with the Sales Team Leader: Defines and implements, in conjunction with the Sales Manager, local sales quotas and goals for the satellite that meet corporate goals. Identifies unprofitable customer accounts and makes the necessary corrections to the pricing or supply structure. Develops sales campaigns and supports sales promotions approved by vendors and as per internal guidelines. Reviews sales reports indicating sales growth, trends and other information to take corrective action as necessary.

3. Assumes responsibility for accounts receivable: Maintains satellite accounts receivable within prescribed limits. Facilitates efforts to collect delinquent balances. Assists the Accounts Payable Department in meeting the objectives of the Regional Center.

4. Coordinates satellite activities: Works with the Logistics Manager to ensure effective management of distribution and transportation. Ensures that satellite inventory levels meet customer requirements and corporate objectives. Ensures delivery schedules are met. Assists in resolving issues related to accounts receivable and customer bottle collections. Coordinates the distribution of tasks among team members and establishes objectives for each member.

5. Coaches the satellite team: Ensures that each team member is adequately trained in sales techniques and strategies, as well as product and market knowledge, in order to achieve local and corporate objectives.

6. Quality / Safety: Actively participates in the promotion of ALC\'s safety objectives.

7. Process Improvement: Works collaboratively with team and cross-functional teams to continuously teams to continuously improve work processes. Analyzes his/her activity, identifies causes of malfunctions and proposes appropriate corrective measures.

Competencies and Profile

TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Diploma: Post secondary diploma or combination of education and experience in compressed gases, welding and industrial products
  • Training: Quality system (ISO)
  • Knowledge: Computerized systems, MS Office, oral and written communication skills
  • organizational skills, bilingualism when required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 5 years of relevant experience
