About us:

The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer\'s (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the UofT. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration, and Procurement; the central UofT Student System (ROSI) and its approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications; and the University\'s O365 platform.

Your opportunity:

Under minimal direction, this position will research, assist and advise on University-wide use of SAP and its related technology. Providing leadership and applying advanced analysis skills and experience, you will lead and architect detailed, reliable solutions by understanding and mapping institutional needs to technology solutions. Responsibilities will include technical requirements, architectural designs, system solutions, project management, team coordination, design and implementation of enterprise-wide SAP solutions.

You will provide advice, guidance and assistance to BASIS Support, EASI developers, analysts, and clients in recommending, designing, developing and supporting complex administrative systems and in meeting the administrative standards, policies and security requirements of the UofT. Major responsibilities include:

  • leading multiple enterprise-level projects, development and maintenance strategies
  • leading and coordinating technical projects, teams, schedules and work activities
  • providing solution architectures for complex enterprise applications, ensuring they comply with ITS enterprise architectures as well as University security and privacy policies
  • participating as a member of a project team to meet the requirements of the project
*analyzing business requirements (both institutional and divisional)
  • implementing new and enhanced systems or packages, including researching, recommending, designing, installing, coding and testing
  • researching the market for solution insights, direction and methods
  • supporting institutional and divisional systems where applicable
  • facilitating and training other members of EASI to fulfill their responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and implementing IT systems related to the University\'s SAP platform independently
  • Defining requirements and scope of complex projects with broad impact and long-term consequences
  • Planning and implementing new releasesand versions of computing operating systems for the SAP S/4 HANA platform and its associated systems, and technologies such as HANA, SAP UI technologies, SAP PI/PO, SAP Content Server, SAP Solution Manager
  • Advising on cost, feasibility and impactof different implementation solutions to Institutional, Divisional and EASI Leadership, as applicable
  • Reconciling business requirements with information architecture needs for highly complex system integration; Conducting needs assessments to determine end-user technical requirements
  • Developing strategic long and short term planning of complex enterprise level systems related to the University\'s SAP platform
  • Executing production schedules and introducing variations as required to meet business and operational needs
  • Serving as an expert resource to a group of professionals in the speciality, such as Basis Support, EASI Developers, Integration Specialists, other Solution Architects, etc
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Eight years or more relevant experience in SAP-related development, BASIS support and SAP solution architecture, which includes:
  • Minimum of three years experience architecting and implementing end-to-end SAP solutions; Minimum two years experience in detailed SAP Basis Administration, including S/4 HANA administration; Minimum of five years hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development
  • Experience supporting SAP UI technologies such as SAP FIORI, SAP Enterprise Portal
  • Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform and products such as SAP CPI; Exposure to SAP Modules FI-CO, MM, PM, HCM and its configuration
  • Strong Project Management experience
  • Strong working experience and exposure to public cloud (preferably Azure)
  • Exposure to DevOps practices
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager setup and configuration; Experience with SAP systems like SAP PI/PO, SAP Content Server
  • Working knowledge of SAP Security, SAP Single Sign-On
  • Strong enterprise architecture and modelling skills specifically with the SAP platform
  • Strong understanding of SAP Technology and development architecture
  • Strong leadership, project management, technical lead and teamwork skills
  • Superior organization skills - able to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple high priority projects at the same time
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of UofT leadership and technical stakeholders; and able to clearly communicate complex ideas to both leadership and technical resources using diagrams, models, prototypes, etc
  • Ability to to articulate architectural differences, and challenges and approaches between solution methods

  • Experience working in an SAP Public Sector implementation with exposure to Funds Management
