Job Summary

We are looking for a Solution Architect with 4+ years experience who will be the catalyst to lead SAP projects through the phases of architecture, analysis, design, configuration and implementation in a sophisticated Manufacturing, Distribution and Sales environment.

They will set and lead the organization's SAP IT landscape in alignment with required business transformations. They will work directly with the IT SAP Business Analyst and the System Integrator to translate business requirements into a solution architecture that conforms to enterprise architectural standards and roadmaps.

Along with the System Integrator, the Solution Architect analyses the application and infrastructure technology to resolve its ability to support the solution and builds relevant design documentation to be referenced by developers and configuration specialists alike.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Analyze and translate business, information and technical requirements into a technical architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives.
  • Coordinate Solution architecture related activities with IT partners and other Solution Architects.
  • Work with enterprise architecture, application and infrastructure teams to produce an efficient, high level, conceptual design (in or around the ERP).
  • Effectively lead changes and conflicts during requirements gathering process, get approval and design sign-off from the business.
  • Guide the integration of applications across the business.
  • Maintain knowledge in new technologies and solutions to tackle business problems.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to efficiently resolve day-to-day issues. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure requirements are fulfilled by the solution architecture or propose process alignments.
  • Apply high-intellect reasoning and problem-solving skills. Analyze information and situations to build ideas and develop practical solutions.
  • Work with System Integrator, other Solution Architects, IT Team & Data team to define data related issues and mappings.
  • Support the development of testing scenarios and scripts for confirmation of requirements implementation prior to deployment.
  • Support IT SAP Business Analysts and key users.
  • Guard the solution architecture and the design.
  • Act as the spokesperson to advocate for the business with new capabilities or functionality within systems.
  • Support Change Lead in all change related activities.
  • Facilitate workshops to bring together and document specific technical and functional requirements.
  • Bring together and communicate all architecture and design that support the delivery of business value, fulfills goals and objectives, and meet partner needs.
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and work with the development teams or external suppliers to transfer them into technology solutions.
Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience
  • University degree in Computer Sciences or similar.
  • Industry Experience: 4+ years of validated experience designing and improving solution architecture for sophisticated manufacturing organizations - preference in Process Manufacturing.
  • At least 3 full life cycle ERP deployments of which a minimum 1 with global template approach.
  • ERP Experience: Architecture, design, configuring and implementing SAP S/4
  • Additional Technical Experience Proficient with Microsoft office applications and other illustrative software (Entreprise Architect) to present concepts and ideas.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to vulgarize, present and influence at all levels of the organization, tailoring succinct and focused messages to different audiences. Good meeting facilitation & presentation skills.
  • Excellent French and English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to tackle sophisticated technical problems and elaborate technical solutions.
  • In-dept knowledge of the SAP functional modules in the domain.
  • Familiar with Enterprise Architecture methodologies, frameworks and tools (SOA, TOGAF, BPM, UML, etc.)
  • Effective negotiation skills and ability to facilitate collaboration.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills required. Solid experience working in Manufacturing, Distribution and Sales. Experience in working in a multi-functional and multi-vendor environment is an asset.
  • Collaborative Skills: Demonstrable ability to influence various levels of the organization. Strong relationship building skills with all collaborators and ability to bridge the operational teams with the developers.
  • SDLC, Agile, Lean and Scrum methodologies are considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong self-motivation skills.
  • Familiarity with the ADKAR model from Prosci for Change Management, an asset.
  • SAP Certifications considered a strong asset.
