The Role

David Roberts Food Corporation is looking for a dependable and skilled Sanitation Technician to maintain cleanliness at our Mississauga Distribution Centre, including offices, common areas, warehouse areas, and restrooms. This role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving heavy objects (up to 25 lbs), standing for extended periods, bending, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, emptying garbage and collecting cardboard, as well as ensuring restrooms are clean and fully stocked.

Hours

6:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Monday to Friday

What You'll Do

Perform custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, sanitizing and dusting to keep work areas clean and presentable, which include offices, common areas, warehouse areas and restrooms. Follow established cleaning protocols and schedules to ensure all areas are consistently maintained. Operate a pump truck to move pallets to clean underneath and straighten. Running a floor scrubber. Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, replenishing dispensers as required. Empty garbage bins and collecting cardboard. Cleaning of windows. Sanitizing touch points. Wiping up spills. Adhere to all health and safety regulations. Other duties as assigned.

How You'll Make an Impact

You have 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role. Previous cleaning experience in a warehouse environment is an asset. Knowledge of proper handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment, including a floor scrubber. Licensed forklift driver is an asset (Raymond reach, ride-on walkie). Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy objects when required. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to prioritize. High School or equivalent. Ability to read, write and understand English.
