As a Sanitation Member you are responsible for all cleaning and sanitizing tasks in designated areas. Cleaning tasks include but are not limited to dusting, washroom cleaning, emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, clean floor surfaces, vacuuming of carpeted areas. Special attention must be given to food grade areas to ensure we are in compliance with Food Grade and HACCP standards.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Cleans and sanitizes all food grade areas in accordance with Food Grade and HACCP Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure. This may include operating elevating devices and working at heights.
Sweep/Swiffer, mop/wash floors
Dust furniture (desks, photocopiers) and vacuum area rugs
Wash walls, windows, light switches, and doors
Clean, and disinfect kitchen/lunchrooms and bathroom areas and fixtures/appliances (sinks, toilets, refrigerator, etc)
Pick up debris and empty all trash containers
Restock single unit dispensers containing soap, paper towel, and toilet paper as needed
Keep a weekly inventory of all consumables such as paper towel, toilet paper and cleaning supplies
Operate Floor Scrubber
Responsible for keeping the floor scrubber in working order and reporting to management any issues.
Ensures company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all department personnel and visitors.
Wears personal protective equipment as required at all times. These include safety shoes, gloves, etc.
Follows the guidelines and rules as set out by the company policies.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Job Specifications--Skills and Competencies:
Grade 12 High school education or equivalent
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
Complete and pass training to operate Floor Scrubber
Good attendance record
Assigns the highest priority to customer satisfaction while meeting commitments to achieve business objectives.
Practices and maintains integrity.
Responsible for promoting and seeking excellence in all aspects of business.
Fully capable of working in varying temperatures. Temperatures may range anywhere from 2 degrees Celsius to 15 degrees Celsius in most Brimich Warehouses. Brimich Cold Storage buildings may range from 0 degrees Celsius to -30 degrees Celsius.
Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
Recent certification for elevated work platforms, working at heights, and fall arrest
Must possess a strong attention to detail in order to thoroughly clean facilities
Ability to stay motivated when completing daily tasks
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with minimal supervision
Exercise judgement and discretion when in the presence of sensitive client information
