Donald's Fine Foods is a family-owned business that has operated for over 30 years. We are a specialty meat manufacturer spanning six plants in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

We are currently looking for a Sanitation Supervisor to join our growing team at North 49 Foods, based out of our Moose jaw, SK location.

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily operational aspects of the sanitation department. This includes overseeing the sanitation function to ensure compliance with all quality management programs and food safety systems such as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) in accordance with all Company standard and regulatory requirements. The incumbent evaluates day to day operations within this department to optimize safety, productivity, efficiency and quality to meet the organizational goals working in collaboration with the Plant and the Maintenance Managers.

Responsibilities



Safety & Quality Assurance

To actively take part in the Company Safety program by promoting safe work procedures, being knowledgeable in safety matters relating to the plant and encouraging a safety conscious culture. Ensures compliance with all quality management programs and food safety systems, such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) in support of the plant's Quality Assurance Program. Responsible for completing monthly verification in all areas, in conjunction with the lead hand. Completes the daily Titration test and logs into the daily chemical log sheet. Updates and reviews the SDS & TDS on an annual basis, or as required.
Leadership & Administration

To always lead in a manner that exemplifies honesty, integrity quality and trust. Adhere and promote Company procedures and policies at all times. Responsible for training and development of all sanitation employees for safety and job performance. Responsible for scheduling sanitation staff hours, vacations, approving hours etc., to meet Sanitation Department requirements. Promote positive Employee relations at all times by practicing respectful management. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements



3-5 years' experience in a meat processing facility or manufacturing environment. 5 or more year Supervisor experience. Business degree or diploma. Ability to juggle projects while committed to hands on approach. Ability to add value as an individual contributor and an active team member. Ability to build rapport quickly with management team. Ability to read and interpret information, analyzing risk and employing excellent. judgment in making effective decisions. Demonstrated ability to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Excellent computer skills. Excellent problem solving, project management skills. Demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor others. Strong understanding of working within a collective bargaining agreement.
Position Skills

Critical-Thinking Skills. Analytical based Problem-Solving Skills. Computer/System literacy - Microsoft Office; Inventory/Planning/Scheduling Software.

Physical Requirements



Sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Ability to work in refrigerated and warm environments. Typically works Monday to Friday, with some weekend requirements.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
