About the role
The Sanitation Lead hand is responsible to ensure regulatory compliance, safety and quality by monitoring the master cleaning and sanitation plan of the plant. The Sanitation Lead Hand ensures food and employee safety in their daily routine.
Key responsibilities
Responsible for scheduling and executing the site master food safety cleaning and sanitation plan.
Responsible for compliance with sanitation policies and procedures as defined by Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Food Defense and Health/Regulatory Affairs regulations.
Ensure that the cleaning, sanitizing and integrated pest management processes of the plant are compliant with food safety standards through continuous audit and supervision.
Schedule and coordinate all daily, weekly and monthly food sanitation process with the management and supervisory team.
Inform and advise the management team on all food sanitation subjects.
Assist in the tracking and requisition of supplies needed for cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the plant.
Responsible for monitoring and validating the cleaning and sanitization of the building, equipment and utensils in the plant.
Identify training needs of the sanitization staff and work with supervisor to provide the necessary skills.
Assist in recruiting providers for 3rd party cleaning if necessary (ex: confined spaces).
Participate in plant audits (internal, customer, and external). Responsible for compliance with improvement actions in sanitation department.
Committed to providing a safe food product.
Works within all regulatory requirements.
Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements.
Assist in training of new staff and existing employees.
Role coverage during vacations, absenteeism, training maybe required.
Other duties as assigned.
Ensures compliance with all food and employee safety policies and procedures.
About you
Post-secondary education plus 3 years' experience in a manufacturing facility.
Previous Lead hand/Leadership skills in a food manufacturing facility.
Other:
Must be able to freely move around entire facility.
Must be able to lift 55lbs.
Ability to work in and be exposed to heat.
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
