Sanitation Worker

We currently have an opening for a Sanitation Worker based out of our location in Richmond, BC.

Brief

The Sanitation worker is responsible for ensuring food processing equipment and work areas are sanitized and cleaned as per company and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's requirements. Sanitation work will be carried out efficiently, while having the highest priority on safety.

Responsibilities

Cleaning and sanitizing plant facilities and equipment to ensure cleanliness. Disassemble/ Reassemble processing equipment in a timely manner. Ensure equipment passes pre-operating inspections and re-clean as needed. Clean equipment in such a manner as to prevent personal injury, equipment damage and production downtime. Refill PPE on the production floor Assist on the production line with the following tasks:
-lifting/ move totes for ground line
-folding cardboard into boxes to prepare for the day
-opening boxes of raw materials
-running items through metal detector
-assembling items into box
-applying stickers/ labels to items

Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements

1-2 years experience in a sanitation or janitorial role. WHMIS Certification and experience working with chemicals. Must have basic working English (verbal). Consistent commitment to working safely. Demonstrated ability to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency using a creative and logical approach to resolution. Ability to work in a cold environment and tolerate standing for long periods of time. Ability to work in a team-based environment.

Hours:

5:00am to 1:30pm
