Job Summary:

The Sanitation Bakery Crew Member is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in a commercial bakery environment. This role ensures that equipment, workspaces, and production areas meet food safety standards in compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize all production equipment, tools, surfaces, floors, walls, and storage areas according to the bakery's sanitation schedule. Disassemble and reassemble machinery for cleaning purposes, ensuring proper handling and safety. Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and supplies safely and effectively, following all safety data sheets (SDS) and procedures. Handle waste and recycling materials properly, including disposal of food waste and used packaging. Maintain cleanliness of common areas such as breakrooms, restrooms, and locker rooms (if applicable). Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety protocols at all times. Monitor and document sanitation procedures and completion in logs or checklists. Collaborate with production and quality control teams to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Report any maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards immediately.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in food manufacturing or sanitation is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift/move up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in varying temperatures (cold/warm bakery environments). Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

Standing, walking, and repetitive movements for extended periods. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and industrial equipment. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
