About Us:

We are a busy custom metal fabrication shop that specializes in made-to-order steel components and assemblies. Our shop includes a full-service sandblasting and painting department, and we're currently seeking a skilled

Blasting Operator

to join our team.

Position Overview:

As a Sandblasting Operator, you'll play a key role in preparing steel components for painting and finishing by removing rust, mill scale, and old coatings using abrasive blasting equipment. We are looking for someone dependable, safety-conscious, and physically capable of working in a blasting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare steel surfaces Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met Handle and move large fabricated steel parts safely using cranes and forklifts Perform routine maintenance on blasting equipment and booths Monitor and maintain media levels and cleanliness in the blasting area Communicate with painters and shop leads to coordinate workflow Follow all company safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times

Requirements:

Previous experience in abrasive blasting or industrial painting preferred Ability to wear a full hood respirator Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions (standing, lifting, crouching) Familiarity with overhead crane and forklift operation (in house training provided, if required) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team
