Sandblaster

.

Overview:

Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager, you will be a key member of the team, maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and service.

A sandblaster is required for one of the final stages of precast concrete production. This onsite individual will be required to use sandblastings techniques to finish precast elements. The applicant must have a good eye for consistency. Knowledge of compressors and sandblasting techniques is an asset.

Roles/Responsibilities:

The right candidate will have blasting experience with sand, glass or water, on pre-cast concrete panels Shotblasting experience would be an asset, but willing to train Inspect equipment, ensure maintenance, and emphasize safety in all operations. Lead by example in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized yard environment. Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Specific Experience:

High School Diploma (minimum) Less than 1 year to less than 2 years in the construction or concrete industry Self-starter with an excellent work ethic Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong team player with a positive attitude Must be able to follow verbal and written directions, work independently and with others are mandatory. Must have experience and ability to focus and accurately complete both complex and repetitive tasks. Must have experience and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment Must possess experience and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail Must have experience and ability working within physically demanding, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling environments Forklift license/experience is an asset. (not required)

Please note: Sandblasting is performed outdoors year around

Always be able maintain a high level of safety Be punctual and self-started with a strong work ethic. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to work well with others in a team environment Have ability to work unsupervised, motivated to complete all tasks. Always maintain a professional attitude, especially when handling difficult and/or stressful situations Willingness to work overtime as required.

Own Tools/Equipment:

Steel-toe safety boots (own)

Compensation Offer:

Compensation $36.90 - $40.14/hr. (includes benefits, vacation and pension, as per collective agreement)

Annual Bonus Permanent, full-time, Monday-Friday, 44 hours / week , other as required Located in Ottawa, Ontario
