ABOUT OUR OPERATION
The objective of Sanajiksanut is to increase Inuit workforce in all of AEM's Nunavut operations by contributing to the development of skills and competencies of the Inuit population in the Kivalliq region. The Sanajiksanut Process is composed of 4 steps: Employment Information Session, Online Application, Pre-employment Training, and Employment. In completing these stages of the Sanajiksanut Process, applicants will better prepare themselves for future employment with AEM or one of its contractors.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Attend the 42-day training (3 rotations) at the Meadowbank Complex mine site;
Attend all of the training classes and the on-field related to the Underground Haul Truck Trainee program;
Operate Haul Truck Equipment (30T);
Follow the Trainer's instructions at all times;
Inspect the working equipment on a daily basis;
Inspect the working environment by scaling rocks.
High School Diploma;
Must pass a pre-employment medical exam and be deemed fit to work underground;
Must obtain approval to work underground from the Canadian Explosives Regulatory Division;
Underground certification or equivalent such as Mining Modules and Common Core is an asset;
Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;
Possess strong work ethics, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;
Experience working in a multicultural environment;
Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written).
