Position: Experienced Salt/Brine Truck Operator

Location:

2069 Preston Road, Cavan, ON

(or reporting directly to assigned sites)

Seasonal Contract:

November 1st,2025 to April 15th,2025

Rate of Pay:

Experience to determine hourly rate of pay

On-Call Policy:

The Employee will be on-call 24/7 during the winter months. The employee will be required to respond to calls in a timely manner and be fit for duty at all hours of the day and night.

Overview:

The Gardener Peterborough is seeking experienced salt/brine truck operators for the winter season. As a salt/brine truck operator, you will be responsible for ensuring slip-free conditions by operating de-icing equipment. The employee will be required to document all weather changes and incidents/near misses at the time of event. The employee will be on-call 24/7 during the winter months, so reliability and quick response times are crucial. Work will be within Peterborough and surrounding area.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate salt/brine trucks equipped with de-icing systems Maintain detailed documentation of all operational steps Ensure safe and clear conditions for clients Respond promptly to weather-related phone calls Pre/post trip on all CVOR licensed vehicles Safe and efficient loading and unloading of salt/brine

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience with the loading and disbursement of salt/brine Aware and adheres to safety protocols and practices Communicate professionally with all team members Capable of handling challenging weather and road conditions Maintain accurate records and complete all shift documentation Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
