We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Salt Truck Operator to join our team! Responsibilities

Please note this is an on-call 24/7 position during snow season.
Operate salt trucks and other heavy-duty commercial vehicles such as dump trucks or flatbeds to distribute salt or de-icing materials on roadways, parking lots, and other surfaces. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring all mechanical systems are functioning properly before use. Load and unload materials efficiently. Maintain accurate logs of materials used, routes taken, and operational hours for reporting purposes. Follow safety protocols strictly while maneuvering large vehicles in various weather conditions and traffic environments. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding route updates, safety concerns, or vehicle issues. Assist with general yard duties such as moving equipment or materials when needed.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, shuttle driving, or route driving with a focus on heavy vehicle operation. Strong knowledge of driving various types of commercial vehicles including dump trucks, or flatbeds. Mechanical aptitude for performing routine vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks. Skilled in load & unload procedures using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles safely and efficiently under different weather conditions. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as forklift, heavy haul machinery, or school bus driving is a plus.
