Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salon Assistant to join our award winning salon and team of pet lovers. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our Groomers and ensuring a comfortable environment for the pets in our care. This position requires a passion for animals, strong time management and communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks that contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the salon.

Duties

Assist Groomers with preparing pets for services, including (but not limited to) shampooing, conditioning, and drying the pets. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the salon, including cleaning floors, sanitizing tools, tables and surfaces, light laundry duties and restocking supplies as needed. Handle heavy lifting when moving equipment, supplies and pets within the salon to ensure an efficient workspace. Manage appointment scheduling and client check-ins and outs as needed. Support Groomers by providing assistance during grooming services, ensuring all team members and pets are safe. Assisting and performing walk in services; such as nail trims/dremels, ear cleaning and teeth brushing. Assisting with taking photos of pets once their groom is complete. End of day cleaning and closing responsibilities.

Experience

Familiarity with salon operations or pet industry practices is a plus but not mandatory. Time management and working well under pressure is a must. Pet handling skills are very important to have. Working in a team environment with multiple moving parts at once is helpful. Some customer service experience is a plus to have. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in the pet industry are essential for success in this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
