As the Sales Specialist you will work in a collaborative team environment to support the sales of Life policies providing superior sales and service to customers, including Credit Unions, insured members, CUMIS Account Managers and intermediaries. Key focus areas for this role include individual life inside sales, inbound telephone inquiries, and processing various servicing functions.

How you will create impact:

  • Supporting sales growth targets by identifying and selling individual life insurance products and services to meet clients insurance needs through inbound and outbound call activity.
  • Participating in up-sell/cross-sell referrals program for individual-life insurance coverage to persons insured to increase number of active relationships, thereby increasing customer loyalty or as an extension of conservation efforts to maintain existing customer relationships by offering alternative products or services that are more suitable to current needs.
  • Generating Life, Disability and Critical Illness Insurance sales based on yearly individual and departmental goals.
  • Providing input and recommendations to Individual Life Product Development team, Individual Underwriting, Marketing and Sales to assist with the development of new products and to enhance existing products and services, based on customer experiences.
  • Efficiently handling a variety of inquiries in the form of inbound and outbound calls, emails, faxes, and mail from members, credit unions, and administrative staff (i.e. Quotes, policy changes) regarding contract information, policy provisions, administrative and procedural matters for all individual lines of business.
  • Providing general explanations of underwriting and claims requirements and procedures, including status updates.
  • Appropriately documenting all business interactions and transactions in our Customer Relationship Management (Centric) systems to maximize efficiency in all subsequent customer interactions, ensuring data accuracy to reflect the event.
  • Ensuring the highest quality customer experience in all interactions in accordance with the criteria identified in the Call Evaluation Form and compliance with Best Practices.

To join our team:

  • You have completed a post-secondary education with 2-3 years of customer service experience in a contact centre environment.
  • You have or are working towards completing the LLQP Life License.
  • You have or are working towards completing the ACS 100.

  • This role operates in a contact center environment where a high level of audio and visual concentration is required for extended periods of time.
