PURPOSE
The role of the Sales Manager is to solicit business that enables the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue goals in the Rooms and Food & Beverage Divisions. The Sales Manager will participate in concentrated sales efforts and will be required to work within a set of quotas and targets. The successful candidate will be expected to prospect for new business, conduct site inspections & familiarization trips, organize client events, and attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings. They will also be required to foster strong relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, tourism councils, and our Global Sales Offices
PRIMARY DUTIES
Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals. This will consist of telephone & email solicitation, outside sales calls, sales trips, site inspections, written communication and file maintenance.
Achieve room night and revenue targets as outlined in annual strategic plan and assigned individual goals.
Analyze group room rates to maximize profit.
Drive revenue into Catering and Food & Beverage Outlets through maximizing opportunities within the designated portfolio.
Achieve monthly activity targets for prospecting and sales calls as outlined in assigned individual goals. Weekly activity report is required.
Participate in weekly sales meeting; sales strategy meetings, preconference meetings, training and other sales related meetings as required.
Participate in concentrated Sales efforts in any region.
Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to all groups and conferences
Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings as required
Develop relationships with Tourism Whistler, Destination Vancouver and Hilton Global Sales office representatives.
Ensure sales contracts, letters and communications are accurate, current and consistent.
