How You'll Contribute

Based out of Metro Toronto, Ontario, the Sales Manager spends up to 80% of their time in the field local to their affiliated region to develop and implement a market-driven sales plan through a team of Territory Sales Consultants (TSCs) who report into them. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with major customers in the region and will actively support TSCs in achieving growth objectives. The Sales Manager will actively listen to ensure a strong understanding of the local market, customer needs, and competitive dynamics with a clear focus on capturing market share.

Develop and direct sales plans to maximize profitable growth and return on investment Develop an annual sales plan, providing full details related to revenue expectations and required investments to achieve the business plan. Apply key metrics in driving and managing the behaviour of the Territory Sales Consultants (TSCs), ensuring that all TSCs meet activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes. Maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales and activity reports submitted by TSCs. Leverage and promote Stephenson's technology and solutions to help customers with their business and to also improve performance and productivity with the TSC team Hold regular communication meetings to inform sales staff of plans, programs and results as well as new developments in the marketplace, sales trends, competition, and business opportunities. Develop metrics and action plans to target specific customers and develop relationships to grow market share. Understands customer or project-related drivers and recommends business changes to ensure a superior offering that exceeds our competition. Engage staff to maximize opportunities created through other marketing and promotional initiatives. Develop and oversee implementation of strategic customer programs designed to grow the business. Deal with customer complaints and adjustments to achieve fair and equitable settlements. Make sales calls on critical customers and prospects to secure profitable business; create and conduct proposal presentations and RFP responses. Seek out new business opportunities with the customer base. Seek out new business opportunities and completes analyses to determine their viability and make recommendations on courses of action. Works with the Director of Sales to design and implement sound business plans for new opportunities to ensure that the identified growth and profit is achieved in line with the Company's overall strategic plan. Prepare and present forecasts on sales volumes. Identify, create and develop profitable strategic alliances with business partners. Provide leadership, inspiration, and motivation to the team of TSCs. Recruit, train and retain a high-performance sales team, developing assessment, training and succession plans for the TSC sales team. Identify high potential employees; discusses and helps formulate plans for the development of employees with business leads and help prepare them for additional responsibility. Document developmental plans and executes Performance Appraisal conversations on an ongoing basis.

What You Bring to the Table

Post-secondary education in relevant field or equivalent work experience Minimum 5 years of sales and business management experience, preferably within the rental equipment or construction service industry Valid G Class (ON)/Class 5 (AB) Driver's license Proven track record of sales growth Experience working in a CRM environment Familiarity with construction and industrial environments and able to interact with senior management, contract managers, project managers, site supervisors and direct reports
