The role of Sales Manager (SM) is vital in the success of Craig Travel. It requires a balance of strategic development, process building as well as hands on sales and team management. Reporting directly to the President, the SM will work to ensure that company targets for sales and client services are achieved by designing and implementing improvements in process and service. The SM will be directly accountable for the management of our reservation system and is expected to standardize and simplify existing processes within the system. Candidates must be accountable, proactive, assertive, committed to providing superior customer service and have excellent communication skills and sales enthusiasm. The SM will be responsible for cultivating a team based environment. Candidates must be able to quickly build strong working relationships with the sales team, new customers and existing customers via the telephone (requires superior phone etiquette and extreme ease in using the telephone). Coordination with other departments (Marketing and Operations) to develop strong working strategies to support the company's growth is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand our business model and drive sales accordingly
Provide ongoing business insight and analysis to drive business
Implement, enable and institutionalize the sales and client services process
Drive a consistent sales rhythm within the business to achieve company targets
Direct management of the sales and client service team
Provide hands on support to the client service and sales team
Enable, measure and report on sales staff performance
Manage existing booking systems, including internal training
Source new solutions for data management
Develop and manage incentive and referral programs
Actively prospect and qualify new business
Manage the travel insurance program, train employees on policies
Coordinate collateral, in conjunction with department managers for timely client distribution of client services and sales material
Understand new product offerings with little assistance
Prepare monthly sales reports
Drive integration and alignment between Sales, Marketing and Operations
REQUIREMENTS
PERSONAL

TECHNICAL
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe software is a plus.
Experience with GDS reservation systems and airline ticketing is a plus.
Ability to pick up and navigate online databases
Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and exchange rates
EXPERIENCE
4+ years of experience in a Travel Sales Management position
4+ years of sales experience in the travel industry or similar fields
Comfortable navigating new database systems
Strong leadership and conflict resolution
Knowledge of and experience in worldwide destinations an asset
