Job Description

The Sales Manager leads a high-performing sales team to deliver exceptional results, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships. This role oversees day-to-day sales operations, develops strategies to capture new business opportunities, and ensures exceptional service for existing accounts. Acting as both a coach and strategic partner, the Sales Manager drives performance and builds lasting relationships with vendors and key customers.


Key Responsibilities



Develop and implement sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets. Ensure team alignment with corporate sales goals and strategic priorities. Oversee recruitment, onboarding and professional development of sales staff. Monitor and support employee performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals and to foster continuous development. Conduct regular field coaching, joint sales calls, and customer visits to strengthen relationships and enhance team effectiveness. Partner cross-functionally with internal departments to win, retain, and grow strategic accounts. Analyze sales metrics, generate accurate forecasts, and deliver insightful performance reporting to leadership. Partner with key vendors to maintain strong relationships, drive sales growth, and support joint business objectives. Meet or exceed sales goals, KPIs, and service levels as defined by management.

Qualifications



University or College business degree. Minimum of 8 years' experience managing a sales team, preferably from the Industrial Distribution industry. Experience in wholesale, an asset. CPSA designation or Sales Methodology training, an asset. Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and presentation. Demonstrated successful skills in coaching and developing next-generation sales leaders. Advanced ability to attain goals and objectives through delegating and managing teams. Proven success in sales and business development. MS Office Suites: Experience in preparing documents, intermediate Excel features, and creating presentations. Possess a valid driver's license. Bilingual (French and English), spoken and written. (*) This qualification is required as you will be interacting with partners, vendors, internal/external clients and/or staff across Canada on a regular basis.
