What we're looking for:
The Sales Manager is the leader of the Dealership's Sales Team. He or she is responsible for building and supporting a team of highly productive Sales people that can achieve sales and revenue growth expectations and provide a high standard of customer service. This individual will plan, organize, direct, mentor and evaluate the member of the sales team, ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures. The Sales Manager is directly responsible for developing a passionate, customer-focused sales team that achieves repeat business through the development of strong relationships and by regularly exceeding customer expectations. Additional duties will be assigned as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, direct and evaluate the sales team and the sales operations (Get Internal Sales Organization to its highest level, performance reviews, work schedules, etc.
Oversee all sales deals as well as Finance and Insurance sales
Plan and implement sales-incentive programs (Spiffs and bonuses are under the Sales Manager control with General Managements approval)
Address customer inquiries and complaints
Encourage the development of lasting client-dealership relationships
Provide expert sales and negotiation support to all Sales Professionals
Liaise with managers of departments, other location Sales Manager and Ownership
Create and maintain a high level of morale, positive energy and enthusiasm through continuous motivation
Set sales targets and projections for the location
Complete monthly formal location reports
Develop and sustain product knowledge pertinent to the dealership's business at a level which can be effectively communicated to customers and fellow employees
Reach out for new business whenever possible
Represent and conduct yourself in the best interests of the dealership in a professional and safe manner
Treat all customers and fellow employees with courtesy and respect.
Ensure proper and expedient handling of all leads and customers
Strive to maintain a "positive attitude"
Coordinate your activities with your fellow managers
Cooperate to the fullest extent possible with your team and management
Ensure all paperwork you initiate or handle is done properly and flows smoothly in a timely manner
Strive to keep open lines of communication with your team and management
Participate in all meetings, seminars, and training sessions as requested.
Control waste and expenses
All other duties as assigned by ownership
During the busy season, there is an expectation to be available as much as needed, including evenings and weekends
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
Minimum Five (5) years of Sales experience
Three (3) years of management experience is considered an asset but not mandatory
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Well-developed problem solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives.
Able to find new methods and principles and ability to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices as needed.
High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
