This position will primarily develop and manage aspects of the catering and guest room components for both DoubleTree and Home2 Suites hotels. The candidate must be skilled in building relationships, engaging clients, anticipating guest needs, and exceeding expectations. This candidate will work alongside the Director of Sales and Marketing to achieve pre-established catering and room revenue goals.
Responsibilities
Proactively solicits and qualifies new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, written communication, and client entertainment
Actively seek out new Association and Corporate opportunities for all banquet and meeting spaces within the DoubleTree/Home2 Suites by Hilton Kingston and the Ambassador Event Center
Produce weekly reports for assigned area of responsibility
Responsible for the selling, planning and servicing of events varying in all venues and ensuring that all required information is received and communicated in a timely and effective manner
Solicit and confirm event related information with client to fulfill contractual timelines and commitments
Participates in business review and BEO meetings, and other sales-related meetings as required
To be knowledgeable of local market, national companies, market trends, competition and customers
Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers
Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings
Responds to sales leads and clients' requests in a timely manner
Prepares and customizes sales presentations and proposals to meet client's needs
Works in harmony with other departments to execute groups and catering
Produces quarterly plans and weekly reports with plans to follow through on activities targets and annual revenue goals
Analyze current and potential market trends; coordinates all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rates
Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
Executes sales trips to key market areas
Maintains accounts in Delphi with all pertinent information
Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
Maintain Manga / Hilton policies and procedures
Fulfill sales efforts that supports other segments
Other duties as assigned by the DOSM and GM
Qualifications
Must have excellent communication, written and verbal required
Must have a sharp knowledge and understanding of catering sales / operations
This position must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in catering and hotel sales
Energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude, driven to provide outstanding guest service
A working knowledge of Delphi is a plus
Self-motivated with the ability to function and make decisions in a fast-paced high-pressure environment with strong attention to detail and organization
