The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and maintaining strong business relationships within the

Association, Corporate, SMERF and Trade Shows

. Through proactive sales efforts, strategic account management, and market-driven initiatives, this role ensures Hyatt Place Toronto Airport achieves and exceeds its room night and revenue goals.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



Sales Development & Client Relationships



Develop and execute a pre-opening sales plan to establish the hotel in the marketplace before doors open.

Identify and secure charter accounts and early adopter clients for group, corporate,

Conduct pre-opening sales calls, market blitzes, and client presentations to generate excitement and early bookings

.



Proactively source, qualify, and secure new business opportunities through direct sales calls, networking, trade shows, and other prospecting activities. Build and maintain a robust client base across

associations, corporate accounts, social groups, and trade show organizers

. Develop and nurture long-term relationships with key accounts to maximize repeat business and revenue potential. Conduct engaging site inspections, client entertainment, and presentations in accordance with company standards.

Revenue Generation & Negotiation



Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rentals, function space, and service agreements within established guidelines to ensure profitability. Prepare and review sales contracts, rate agreements, proposals, and banquet event orders with precision and accuracy. Accurately forecast bookings, cancellations, and revenue for assigned market segments.

Collaboration & Communication



Work closely with Operations, Catering, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless delivery of promised services. Share relevant sales intelligence and client requirements with internal teams to exceed guest expectations. Promote cross-departmental teamwork to enhance overall guest satisfaction and brand reputation.

Business Development & Market Presence



Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and sales missions in key feeder markets. Stay informed on competitor activity, market trends, and customer needs to refine sales strategies. Prepare monthly sales reports, market analysis, and forecasts for review with management.

Client Experience & Retention



Follow up with clients during and after events to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings. Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally to maintain strong relationships and brand loyalty.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS



Education:

Some college or university preferred; hospitality, marketing, or business-related degree an asset.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years in hotel sales or related industry; prior experience in corporate, association, or group sales strongly preferred.

Skills:

Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to analyze data, prepare budgets, and understand profit/loss concepts. Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficient in MS Office Suite; experience with hotel PMS/CRM systems preferred.

Other Requirements:

Fluent in English (additional languages an asset). Ability to travel for sales missions, trade shows, and client visits. Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Valid driver's license an asset.

As a member of the leadership team, the Sales Manager is accountable for promoting and enforcing workplace safety:

Adhere to and enforce all

Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)

requirements and company safety policies. Identify and report hazards; take corrective action to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests. Participate in safety training and ensure all team members are aware of safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, promoting the "Clean as You Go" standard
