The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic, and results-driven Sales Manager to join this growing Canadian-made clothing company based in Calgary, AB. Reporting directly to the Owner/CEO, this newly created role will oversee the current two-person Account Manager team dedicated exclusively to the custom corporate apparel division, and together, work to continuously elevate the customer experience while exploring new ways to increase overall revenue. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving growth, developing new business opportunities, and further establishing the company's reputation for quality and service across Canada.

Please note, this is a newly created role within the organization with an anticipated start date of January 5th, 2026. Additionally, although this business services customers across Canada, we are exclusively interested in hiring this individual to be based in Calgary, AB. Therefore, only applicants who presently reside in the Greater Calgary Area will be considered.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in outside sales management, preferably within the apparel, promotional, or B2B sector.
  • Proven success in team leadership, business development, and client relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and motivate sales teams to achieve ambitious targets.
  • Strong understanding of sales metrics, KPIs, and performance management frameworks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with production, order fulfillment, and logistics teams to deliver client solutions.
  • Solid organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with shifting priorities.
  • Expertise in both Shopify and HubSpot are strongly preferred. However, proficiency with a similar CRM/sales management software will be considered.
  • Previous experience using CommonSku would be considered a valuable asset.
  • Basic understanding or familiarity with Canadian corporate apparel trends is an asset.
  • Access to a personal vehicle is strongly preferred, but not required. However, the successful candidate will be required to travel regularly throughout the Greater Calgary Area.

Responsibilities of the Position
LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the current two-person Account Manager team responsible for managing custom corporate apparel accounts.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop additional sales team members to support business growth and expansion into new markets.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and performance-oriented culture within the division.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the sales team, providing guidance on priorities, account management, and best practices.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & CLIENT ACQUISITION
  • Develop relationships with corporate decision-makers, purchasers, and influencers across Canada to generate new business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to promote their Canadian-made products and capabilities.
  • Work in partnership with marketing agency to develop and execute targeted campaigns that support lead generation initiatives.
KPI DEVELOPMENT & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure sales team success, including lead conversion rates, sales volumes, client retention, and market expansion.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on team performance, providing actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to ensure individual and team targets are met or exceeded.
CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
  • Oversee management of client relationships for custom corporate apparel accounts, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction from initial contact through delivery and post-sale follow-up.
  • Serve as a key point of escalation for client concerns, resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Implement strategies to strengthen client loyalty, encourage repeat business, and maximize long-term value.
ORDER FULFILLMENT & PRODUCTION COLLABORATION
  • Collaborate closely with the production team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of custom apparel orders.
  • Communicate client requirements, timelines, and quality expectations to production staff, proactively addressing potential bottlenecks.
  • Monitor order status and proactively update clients on their delivery schedules, managing expectations and maintaining transparency.
REPORTING & STRATEGIC PLANNING
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and growth analyses for the Owner/CEO, highlighting opportunities and challenges.
  • Contribute to annual business planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives as a member of the management team.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor movements, and emerging opportunities within the Canadian corporate apparel sector.
