Overview


We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between engineering and sales by thoroughly understanding customer requirements, interpreting complex bid packages, coordinating with design teams, and delivering compelling technical proposals. This individual will play a key role in driving business growth through expert technical consultation and customer engagement.

Responsibilities



Understand and analyze customer needs across industries like automotive, mining, packaging, and more. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, engineering consultants, and procurement teams. Review and interpret RFPs, RFQs, and bid packages with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Collaborate with internal engineering, design, and estimating teams to develop accurate and competitive proposals. Translate complex technical requirements into clear and compelling proposals. Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure alignment on technical scope and deliverables. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and emerging markets. Support the development of pricing strategies and value propositions tailored to each opportunity. Ensure smooth transition of awarded projects to production teams, including clear documentation and scope clarification.

Requirements



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field (preferred). 3+ years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, or similar roles within fabrication, manufacturing, or related industries. Strong understanding of custom fabrication processes including welding, machining, forming, and assembly. Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and bid documents. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of the sales cycle and procurement processes in industries such as automotive, mining, packaging, airport baggage handling, and material handling. Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems.
