The Sales Engineer will be responsible for a yearly order and margin intake budget, as well as, helping in service and parts business development in Canada. In addition to generating and maximizing sales opportunities, the person will maintain and grow relationships within the given sales territory.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Maintain contacts with existing customers through on-site visits and develops new contacts within the target markets (pharma, chemical biotechnology, renewable fuels, pharmachemicals, mineral and animal bio-products) through tradeshows and customer referrals
  • Provides customer and process support for new and existing installations
  • Follows up with customers from award of purchase order to delivery of machines and ensure\xe2\x80\x99s customer satisfaction
  • Obtains request for proposals for customers, reviews specifications, and determines scope of supply
  • Supports after sales service for Westfalia team members in regards to customer support functions
  • Provides input for ads and marketing strategies. Markets Westfalia Separator products by attending trade shows and seminars each quarter. Makes at least two technical or sales presentations per month.
  • Prepares technical proposals and presentations and submits to Sales Manager for review before sending to customer / prospect
  • On a monthly basis, provides sales project status reports, which encompass the funding of the project, what needs to be offered to win the work, and positioning vs. the competition, to both the assigned Director and the Senior Marketing Manager
  • Develops business and marketing plans for sales areas as well as makes budget recommendations.
  • Assist GEA service man in field test trials at potential customer sites
Your Profile / Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Chemical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of technical selling experience
  • Able to multi-task and work under extreme pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated and highly organized. Must be able to work independently
  • Excellent computer literacy including knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Customer relationship building required which includes entertainment in evenings and possibly some weekends
  • Able to travel in Ouest Canada (to Manitoba) frequently and in the US occasionally
  • 2-3 nights in a hotel per week
  • Bilingual (english and french)
  • Centrifuge exprience is a plus
