Adventure Canada invites you to share in our success by joining our Sales and Client Services, Sales as an administrator intern.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, this forward-facing role assists clients in all aspects of preparing for their booked expeditions. The successful candidate will work as part of a creative team ensuring that our guest inquiries are resolved, our internal processes are followed, and that our data management system is accurate and optimized to provide the best possible customer service experience.
This position requires an energetic, organized, and adaptable disposition. A process-driven candidate with strong administrative skills and robust technological proficiency will thrive in our hybrid team-oriented environment. They\'ll gain hands-on experience from client interactions and meaningful projects with guidance from a mentor and other experienced members of the team. They must be comfortable working on independent projects as needed and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
This position presently requires 32 hours per week between Monday to Thursday; hours may increase to 40 hours per week if agreeable to both parties. The position is primarily remote; however, some components of the position will require in-person work at our Mississauga office. This will be determined on a bi-weekly basis in advance.
Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Respond to guest and travel agent inquiries with prompt, accurate, friendly, and efficient communication, fostering strong relationships
  • Supporting the Sales & Business Development Team with sales initiatives, reporting and data entry
  • Generate and maintain required manifests for internal and external tour operators; follow up with guests for required information
  • Undertake market research and gathering information through surveys
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and planning sessions
  • Assemble and organize client\xe2\x80\x99s pre-departure packages of name tags, expedition jackets, baggage tags, etc. in advance of each trip
  • Other administrative and/or trip preparation duties to support the Sales, CSR, and Business Development teams as required
Skills & Experience Required

  • TICO certified
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution and able to provide proof of enrollment upon request
  • Pursuing education in Sales, Tourism, Business, or similar is preferred
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively with a professor to obtain the required documentation for the Propel program.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service or sales environment (digital and/or in-person); experience in the travel industry is an asset
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Teams; previous experience with client database management and cloud-based technology is an asset
  • Comfortable in a small office/family business environment; positive and adaptable to a variety of duties
  • Ability to work from home remotely, both independently and collaborating within a fast-paced hybrid team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral
  • Stress Tolerant
  • Personal commitments towards lifelong education and implementing the Truth & Reconciliation Commission\xe2\x80\x99s calls to action are strong assets
  • A love for travel and familiarity with Adventure Canada\xe2\x80\x99s expedition destinations is desirable
