We are hiring a Sales Associate for our Wayne Gretzky Estate Winery and Distillery - this person will focus on creating memorable guest experiences and is responsible for performing all selling (including Wine Club memberships) and retailing functions within the retail boutique, during guest experiences, and when providing Guest Relations functions/services.

Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery and Distillery is part of the APL family, located in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake wine country. The 23,000-square foot facility nestled amongst the grapevines is the first combined winery and distillery in Ontario, inviting guests to join in a celebration of Canadian wine, Canadian whisky, and Canadian culture. We are one of Niagara on the Lake's must do destinations! SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Achieves/exceeds assigned Wine Club membership targets. Maximizes revenues per guest transaction (including up-selling) via a solid understanding of: property wines / property spirits / accessories / experiences / Wine Club membership benefits / events all Estate Wine Group properties and Andrew Peller Limited Wine Shop locations Facilitates guided tour and tasting experiences for property guests Assists with processing guest sales (via POS system) and with Guest Relations bookings/reservations (via internal reservations systems) when required Understands and adheres to retail inventory control procedures (receiving, ordering, promotions, stocking, experience write-offs); participates in monthly retail inventory process Follows safe work procedures/practices; reports any unsafe working conditions/hazards to assigned Manager on Duty Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the store product/tour route/experience locations at all times

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Demonstrated Guest/Customer service excellence focus Experience working with computer-based point-of-sale systems and handling cash an asset Smart Serve/Serving it Right Certification is required Demonstrates awareness of when guests and team members may need support, proactively offering assistance and contributing to team efforts without prompting First Aid certification an asset

Note:

As per provincial (Smart Serve/Serving It Right) stipulations, employees under the age of 19 may not be involved in the handling or serving of alcohol. This includes setting up wine bottles for guest experiences, clearing used stemware, stocking fridges/displays, etc.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Physical Effort: Time is allocated to multiple areas based on retail/tour/Guest Relations and property business needs; including working on retail sales floor (including tasting bar, cash register, and stock areas) and working at assigned indoor and outdoor property areas to support guest experiences and functions. Moving/stocking merchandise required to maintain store stock/appearance. Physical Environment: Indoor and outdoor work required based on tour/experience design. Indoor work in a temperature-controlled environment. Frequent outdoor work in peak summer months with exposure to outdoor heat and humidity conditions Sensory Attention: Achieve a balance of providing service excellence to guests while processing guest sales. Familiar with promotional calendar features and location of retail products. Awareness of daily function sheets (property events). Ability to identify guests that are wine and/or whisky (where applicable) evolved and refer them to designated team members (for example, Reserve Boutique members, Team members with Sommelier designation, etc.) and/or ultra-premium/vintage sections of retail boutique Workload Demands: Evening, weekend, and holiday work required; with increased frequency during peak summer months where work environment becomes fast-paced due to guest volumes and seasonal property events. Occasional requirement to work at offsite events and functions.

Retail & Experience Manager

Accountable to the assigned Manager on Duty in the absence of the direct manager Makes communication with team members and supervisors a priority with voice mail, written communication, scheduled meetings, and the Ceridian Dayforce system Develops solid working relationships with all property functional areas (including Restaurant, Winemaking, Cellars - where applicable) to ensure seamless execution of tours/experiences both on property and offsite Continuous focus on service excellence with property guests to promote personal and social media referrals
