We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused

Sales Associate

to join our outdoor retail team. The ideal candidate has experience in retail sales, a strong interest or background in

kayaking, camping, and outdoor gear

, is comfortable using

computers and retail systems

, and is

physically capable of handling merchandise

. This is a hands-on role that combines customer service, sales, and physical work in an active retail environment.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers with product selection and gear recommendations Provide knowledgeable advice on kayaking, camping, and outdoor equipment Demonstrate products and explain features, setup, and proper use Upsell and cross-sell products when appropriate Operate POS systems and process transactions accurately Use computers for inventory lookups, orders, and customer inquiries Maintain clean, organized, and well-presented product displays

Lift, move, and position kayaks, canoes, and large boxed items

Unload skids, shipments, and containers safely and efficiently

Assist with receiving inventory and stocking products

Answer customer questions in-store, by phone, and online Work with the team to meet sales goals
Qualifications & Physical Requirements

Previous retail or sales experience required Knowledge of kayaking, camping, or outdoor gear strongly preferred Comfortable using computers, POS systems, and basic retail software

Physically fit and able to lift heavy items (kayaks, boxes, gear) on a regular basis

Comfortable unloading skids, pallets, and containers Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Strong communication and customer service skills Good time management and organizational skills Bilingual abilities are an asset, not required
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
