Job Overview

The Part-Time Sales Associate supports daily retail operations in a busy, family-owned flower shop. This role includes customer service, order processing, basic plant care, handling incoming floral inventory, and maintaining clean and organized work areas. The Sales Associate works directly with customers and the design team to ensure products are properly carrd for and customer orders are handled accurately and efficiently.

This position is well-suited to someone who is dependable, organized, and comfortable interacting with customers in person and by phone.

Position Details

Part-time hours; weekday and weekend availability required Training provided Hours may increase during busy seasons (Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, etc)

Hourly wage will be determined based on relevant skills and experience

Duties

Assist customers in person and over the phone Answer customer questions about products, pricing, and availability Take floral orders accurately and communicate details to the design team Process payments using the point-of-sale system for orders and cash and carry sales Water and care for plants to maintain quality and appearance Process incoming flowers and plants, including unpacking, checking quality, cleaning and proper storage Clean, organize, and maintain floral coolers, including rotating stock, checking water levels and filling buckets with water when needed) Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor (dusting, sweeping, mopping, etc.) Ensure front counters are cleaned and stocked for the next day (wiping down counters, checking receipt paper, refilling staples, etc.) Assist with restocking shelves and pricing Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online channels Utilize organizational skills to manage time efficiently during busy periods Support the team during busy periods, holidays, and special events Package plants, flowers, and arrangements for delivery and pick up

Requirements

Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus Attention to detail with orders, inventory, and product care Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills for transactions Excellent organizational skills Strong interpersonal skills including customer service, phone etiquette, and upselling techniques Demonstrated time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently Reliable, punctual, and professional Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate items

Pay: $17.60-$19.00 per hour
