We are hiring at our WINS Macleod Plaza Thrift Store! Join our team and help us make a difference in the community. We offer flexible hours, employee discounts and much more! As a charity thrift retailer, we transform gently used items into resources and support for women and their families in Calgary. WINS is dedicated to the repurpose, recycle and upcycle of gently used clothing and household items.
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Sales Associate is responsible for providing friendly and courteous service to customers, donors and volunteers. This position works in a fast-paced environment that involves driving sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.

• Foster a positive workplace and team environment through open communication
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Assess customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs and provide assistance and information on products
• Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
• Sort, tag, hang merchandise, arrange, restock sales floor
• Resolve customer complaints to ensure maximum client satisfaction
• Process sales transactions at point of sale (POS) accurately & efficiently
• Receive, sort, & recycle donated goods
• Lift & move all sizes of furniture throughout each shift - 50 lbs individually or 100 lbs as a member of a team
• Promote upcoming sale promotions, events and other WINS initiatives
• Follow and achieve department\xe2\x80\x99s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis

Actively seek out customers in store and \xe2\x80\x9cGo the extra mile\xe2\x80\x9d to drive sales

• Remain knowledgeable about WINS community impact and the programs offered
• General housekeeping and tidiness of store & rotate inventory on regular basis

• Other duties as assigned

Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need

• 
  Previous experience in a retail, customer service environment is an asset
• Grade 12 Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to problem solve, multi-task and prioritize daily work
• Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
• Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout each shift
• Availability to work evening shifts from 5:30pm-8:30pm and some weekends
• Ability to physically lift 50 lbs individually or 100 lbs as a member of a team
• Eligible to work in Canada

• CSA approved steel-toe boots
