We're currently looking for a friendly, motivated Sales Associate / Cashier / Barista to join our team!

Position Overview:

As a Sales Associate / Barista at Riviera Bakery, you'll be the face of our bakery--greeting customers, preparing coffee, serving baked goods, and helping assemble simple lunch and pastry items. The ideal candidate is self-driven, personable, and comfortable working independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome and assist customers with a positive, friendly attitude Prepare a range of Italian-style coffees (espresso, macchiato, Americano, iced coffee, etc.) Serve and provide basic knowledge about Italian pastries Assemble light lunch items (e.g., sandwiches) Assist in assembling and finishing pastries made by our bakers (e.g., filling cannoli, drizzling toppings, dusting with icing sugar) Operate the POS system; handle cash and card transactions Perform light cleaning and maintain a tidy workspace Restock and organize display and service areas

Cashier Tasks and Abilities:

Accurately handle cash, credit, and debit transactions using the POS system Issue receipts and ensure correct change is provided Balance the cash register at the beginning and end of shifts Maintain accuracy and attention to detail during high-traffic periods Assist customers with questions about pricing, specials, and promotions

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong verbal communication skills in English Outgoing, kind, and engaging with customers Able to work independently and take initiative Experience in customer service, hospitality, or cafe settings Basic understanding of Italian coffee and pastries (or willingness to learn) Dependable and punctual

Preferred Skills:

Previous experience in a bakery or cafe Familiarity with Italian food and beverage culture Food handling certification (asset but not required)
