Look no further, the WINS Beltline Thrift Store is hiring a part-time Sales Associate! We offer flexible hours, benefits, employee discounts and much more! As a charity thrift retailer, we transform gently used items into resources and support for women and their families in Calgary. WINS is dedicated to the repurpose, recycle and upcycle of gently used clothing and household items.

This position reports to the Store Manager and is an integral member of the Social Enterprise team. The successful candidate should be passionate about providing a great customer experience and be ready to contribute to a team that works together to meet the mission of WINS.

Here’s What You’ll Get to Do


  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assess customers’ needs and provide assistance and information on products
  • Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
  • Sort, tag, hang merchandise, arrange, restock sales floor
  • Resolve customer complaints to ensure maximum client satisfaction
  • Process sales transactions at point of sale (POS) accurately & efficiently
  • Receive, sort, & recycle donated goods
  • Lift and move all sizes of furniture throughout each shift - 50 lbs individually or 100 lbs as a member of a team
  • Follow and achieve department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Actively seek out customers in store and “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
  • Remain knowledgeable about WINS community impact and the programs offered
  • General housekeeping and tidiness of store & rotate inventory on regular basis


Here’s What You’ll Need


  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Previous experience in a retail, customer service environment is an asset
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Availability to work flexible shifts with weekend availability
  • Grade 12 Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to physically lift 50 lbs individually or 100 lbs as a member of a team
  • Ability to problem solve, multi-task and prioritize daily work
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time throughout each shift
  • CSA approved steel-toe boots
