We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused
Sales Agronomist
to join our team. This individual will support the seed sales business by working directly with customers and internal sales staff to provide agronomic expertise, execute seed sales initiatives, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Seed Sales & Customer Support
Work closely with the Sales Manager to execute seed sales plans and initiatives.
Call on existing customers to review seed plans, assess crop needs, and identify sales opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with growers through regular communication and on-farm visits.
Support the promotion and positioning of Pioneer seed products and Hybrid Rye.
Agronomic Support & Field Services
Provide in-season crop scouting and agronomic support to customers.
Offer agronomic insight and recommendations to support customer success throughout the growing season.
Assist with the establishment, monitoring, and evaluation of seed trials.
Support data collection, field assessments, and agronomic observations.
Hybrid Rye & Bulk Seed Operations
Support Hybrid Rye sales initiatives and agronomic positioning.
Assist with bulk seed operations during peak seasons, including treating, loading, and quality observations.
Support accurate seed documentation and quality reporting.
Internal Coordination & Operational Support
Communicate customer needs, field observations, and market feedback to the Sales Manager and internal teams.
Work collaboratively with operations and logistics staff to support timely seed delivery and customer service.
Perform additional sales, agronomy, or operational duties as required to support the seed business.
Qualifications & Skills
Post-secondary education in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, or a related field considered an asset.
Practical agronomy experience and a strong understanding of Western Canadian cropping systems.
Experience in seed sales or agricultural retail is an asset.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently in the field while coordinating with internal teams.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally during the growing season.
