JOB TITLE: SALES ADMINISTRATOR IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Sales. BASIC FUNCTION: The Sales Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of material estimates and/or material quotes for customers. This individual\'s accuracy is critical to the profitability of the business as underestimates may cause significant financial losses and overestimates may result in the inability to win bids. This individual also supports the work of management as well as the Inside Sales Team and Outside Sales Team. CORE COMPETENCIES: \xc2\xb7 Communication \xc2\xb7 Teamwork \xc2\xb7 Quality Orientation \xc2\xb7 Time Management \xc2\xb7 Adaptability/Flexibility \xc2\xb7 Creative and Innovative Thinking \xc2\xb7 Decision Making and Judgement \xc2\xb7 Planning and organizing \xc2\xb7 Problem Solving \xc2\xb7 Result Oriented \xc2\xb7 Accountability and Dependability \xc2\xb7 Ethics and Integrity \xc2\xb7 Mathematical Reasoning \xc2\xb7 Development and Continual Learning RESPONSIBILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Prepare or create documents for the executive teams as per specifications. \xc2\xb7 Preparation of charts, graphs, and presentations. \xc2\xb7 Arrange meetings and take minutes as required. \xc2\xb7 Use computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database software to prepare business letters, memos, and documents. \xc2\xb7 Review construction documents and understand material to bid. \xc2\xb7 Work directly with the outside sales representatives regarding all aspects of blueprints. \xc2\xb7 Participate in presentations to management and clients. \xc2\xb7 Work co-operatively with team members to contribute to the overall success of the business. \xc2\xb7 Maintain knowledge of products. \xc2\xb7 Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations. \xc2\xb7 Offer and give support to the Outside Sales Team and the Inside Sales Team. \xc2\xb7 Create various sales quotes. \xc2\xb7 Perform additional assignments per supervisor\'s direction. \xc2\xb7 One (1) mandatory Saturday every year for inventory (Last weekend of July before Civic Holiday weekend). \xc2\xb7 Overtime as required. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED or an acceptable combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE: \xc2\xb7 Two years of direct work experience in an office management capacity. \xc2\xb7 1-2 years of experience in residential and light commercial construction or 2 years in estimating/quoting. \xc2\xb7 Building material sales experience. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: \xc2\xb7 Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.). \xc2\xb7 Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material estimates. \xc2\xb7 Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. \xc2\xb7 Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. \xc2\xb7 Ability to use cost-estimating software to prepare cost quotes and bids. \xc2\xb7 Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work under pressure. \xc2\xb7 Receptive with an ability to adapt to ever-changing circumstances. \xc2\xb7 Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. \xc2\xb7 Able to work independently and as part of a team. \xc2\xb7 Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. \xc2\xb7 Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills. \xc2\xb7 Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment as prescribed in designated areas. \xc2\xb7 Excellent time and project management skills. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of building materials is an asset. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of BisTrack software is an asset. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods at a time.
  • Reach overhead to grasp materials.
  • Ability to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Strength: regularly lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: \xc2\xb7 Work inside in controlled temperature conditions. \xc2\xb7 Occasionally work in outside weather conditions. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: None required. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $50,000.00-$62,000.00 per year Benefits:
