Sales Account Manager Capital Equipment

Calgary, AB, CA, Canada

Job Description

Westpower is a leading North American rotating equipment solutions provider with services spanning industrial and engineered pumps, fabricated engineered fluid systems, reliability and lubrication products, field service and repair solutions that enhance performance.

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for representing Westpower and our OEM partners in all customer-facing activities. With Westpower's expanded portfolio of engineered pump solutions and standard/industrial equipment, this role places a strong emphasis on new business development, prospecting, and market expansion.

The successful candidate will focus on developing opportunities with new customers in both traditional and non-traditional industries. While oil & gas remains part of our core, we are seeking to significantly grow in industries such as chemical, food & beverage, pulp & paper, and mining. The Sales Account Manager will be expected to identify prospects, cold call, open doors, and build relationships at multiple levels of customer organizations, while leveraging Westpower's strong engineering and product management teams to deliver tailored solutions.

This position requires an individual with strong sales drive, customer intelligence, and market knowledge, who is comfortable in competitive environments and capable of building long-term value-based partnerships

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Growth

Proactively research, identify, and pursue new business opportunities across target industries, expanding Westpower's reach beyond oil & gas. Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company growth goals for both engineered and standard equipment offerings. Regularly meet with customers to identify needs, discuss projects, and introduce new solutions and product lines. Work with inside sales, application engineers, and product managers to provide customers with optimized solutions and support.

Sales Execution & Strategy

Meet or exceed sales targets through disciplined prospecting, territory management, and account planning. Cross-sell Westpower's portfolio of products and services, identifying opportunities to increase share of wallet. For assigned accounts, proactively map/identify all relevant decision-makers and sourcing contacts. Work to ensure Westpower receives all RFQs for applicable equipment (pumps, mixers, etc.), even from less-engaged departments, to expand visibility, gather market intelligence, and identify opportunities to strengthen or diversify the product lineup. Prepare and deliver impactful presentations and proposals tailored to client needs. Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, and market developments to inform strategy and positioning. Develop account management strategies to ensure the retention of existing business and defend market share.

Reporting & Communication

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer contacts, opportunities, and sales activities in CRM. Prepare regular territory updates, sales reports, and pipeline forecasts for management and OEM partners. Gather and share market intelligence, competitor activity, and industry insights to support Westpower's strategic planning.

Collaboration & Support

Partner with internal technical teams to ensure customer requirements are met with the right solutions. Work closely with product managers to stay current on product capabilities, applications, and competitive differentiators. Represent Westpower at industry events, trade shows, and conferences as required.
