HOURS OF WORK: CASUAL: Rotating Days, Evenings, Nights, Subject to change due to operational requirements

SALARY: $35.34 to $44.77 per hour (Subject to employment status)

JOB PURPOSE:

Provision of nursing care to meet the individual patient's needs by utilizing the Nursing process

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick
• Recent Palliative Care experience
• Understanding and sensitivity to the philosophy and principles of Palliative Care
• Willingness to complete LEAP (Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative and End-of-Life Care) Course
• Willingness to complete CNA Hospice Palliative Care Certification
• Effective communication skills within Horizon Health Network and with patients, families and the public
• Ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• High regard for confidentiality and advocacy for patients
• Ability to perform Charge Nurse Responsibilities
• Understanding of and ability to implement the Nursing Process in the Palliative Care Unit
• Demonstration of initiative and good judgment
• Current CPR certification
• Completion of annual recertification and e-learning program requirements i.e. WHMIS, etc.and willingness to participate in ongoing learning opportunities
• Emotionally and physically able to perform assigned duties
• Neat and clean in appearance
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.
• Written and spoken competence in English is required.
