An environment based on a commitment to diversity and inclusion supports our goal of safe and quality patient care.Who you areJOB PURPOSEReporting to the Oncology Program Administrative Director, Saint John Regional Hospital the successful applicant will provide strategic and operational leadership for Medical Physics, as well as directing the associated research and educational mandates of the team. Leading a diverse team of professional and technical staff the position is responsible for managing all resources required to maintain services and integrating research and academic programs within the clinical service program. Direct reports include highly functioning professionals whose primary focus is direct patient care and require an operational leader that supports a team centered and accountable approach to practice with a focus on key performance indicators and quality of care.QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD in Medical Physics.
• Membership in the College of Physicists in Medicine (MCCPM) or a Fellow (preferred) of the Canadian College of Physicists (FCCPM) designations or the equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of health care and Medical Physics leadership experience.
• Extensive knowledge of clinical medical physics, excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to take responsibility for critical clinical decisions.
• Experience in project management, change management and process improvement.
• Evidence of academic productivity and leadership in the area of Medical Physics in the form of peer reviewed grants, publications.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.

• Leadership and mentorship experience in people management with a team of direct reports.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Bilingual in both official languages is considered an asset.
• Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching, and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.

• Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization.

Preferred QualificationsFCCPM or equivalent designation. A minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare/academic oncology environment including leadership of organizations of significant size, complexity, and diversityKEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Manager is responsible for all operational needs of the Medical Physics department and team ensuring high quality patient care and access.
• The Manager must anticipate challenges, healthcare trends and increasing demands for services while developing an agile strategy capable of maintaining and enhancing patient care today and into the future.
• This leadership role is accountable for the oversight, development and integration of programs that support a comprehensive medical physics team within clinical operations.
