Job Summary

The "SafeWalk" program is one of the Uplifting Chinatown pilot projects running since June 2023. This is similar to university campuses' safewalk programs. This service is designed for anyone in Chinatown who is travelling alone and would like someone to accompany them to their desired location within Chinatown during our service hours above.

We are seeking a passionate and engaging Ambassador to represent our society and connect with our community. This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively in various settings.

Duties

Ability to capture photos and/or video of the Chinatown area with their own equipment for the purpose of promoting Chinatown through social media and other platforms. Speaking and/or writing Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an asset. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to walk and be on their feet for an extended time with occasional to regular foot patrols and to distribute member packages. Communicate with local business members to identify any issues. Key qualities include, but not limited to: situational awareness and observational abilities, team player and community-minded and dependable. Uniform or identification may be provided to ensure safety, visibility and trust.
The hours of work are 12:00 noon - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.
