Our company is looking for a Safety Technician who will support the implementation and maintenance of our health and safety programs. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing the company's health and safety policies and programs to ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and other applicable regulations.
Support safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Participate in incident investigations and assist with related documentation.
Lead and maintain accurate records of workplace safety training, including onboarding safety orientations, health and safety meetings, emergency response training, safety audits and first aid reports.
Ensure monthly scheduling and documentation for the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC), maintaining effectiveness and compliance.
Assist with equipment inspection protocols, ensuring all tools, machinery, and safety equipment are checked, maintained, and compliant with regulatory standards.
Coordinate with supervisors and managers to ensure consistent compliance with safety procedures and best practices across all work areas.
Assist in implementing workplace safety best practices and initiatives.
Support ergonomic assessments to reduce workplace injuries.
Wet-environment controls: routine checks for slip/trip hazards, floor condition, drains, squeegee/cleanup standards, anti-slip mats, footwear compliance.
Machine safety administration: guarding verification during inspections, basic lockout/tagout documentation support.
Ergonomics in harvesting/packing: tool checks (knives/scrapers), work-height setup, rotation tracking, early symptom reporting, simple task risk assessments.
Training matrix with expiry tracking and corrective action log with due dates and verification/closeout notes.
Near-miss/hazard report log and trend summaries for JHSC
Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational health and safety practices is an asset.
Hours:
32-37 hours per week, flexible schedule.
Pay:
$25 per hour + Benefits
