Purpose



The Safety Systems Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the health and safety function by managing digital safety systems, ensuring accurate data entry, maintaining compliance documentation, and facilitating reporting and analytics. This role ensures that safety systems are aligned with organizational structures and workflows to meet regulatory and operational requirements.



Responsibilities



System Management:

Administer and maintain the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) and databases. Ensure system structures reflect current organizational workflows and reporting lines. Manage user access, permissions, and system configurations

Reporting and Analytics:

Compile, analyze, and report on safety performance data (e.g., incident trends, audit findings). Prepare regular and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Compliance and Support:

Support safety inspections, and investigations with accurate documentation. Ensure compliance with federal, provincial regulations, and company safety policies.

Training and Communication:

Provides safety system training for new users. Facilitate communication between safety teams, operational departments and site management. Auditing Support internal and external safety audits Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and audit committees.



Training and Education



Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field is an asset.
Experience in mining operations (underground and/or open pit).

Proficiency in safety management systems (e.g., SAP, Intelex).

Strong knowledge of mining safety regulations (e.g., OHSA, provincial mining regulations and standards).

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
