Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Supervisor to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and developing training programs that empower employees to maintain a safe working environment. This role is crucial in minimizing risks and fostering a proactive approach to safety across all operations.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations. Conduct regular safety and log audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Lead safety training sessions for employees, focusing on best practices and emergency response protocols. Collaborate with management to create a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.

Experience

Proven experience in a safety supervisory role or similar position within an transportation, industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of OHS regulations and other relevant safety standards. Experience in training development, with the ability to create engaging training materials tailored to various audiences. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey safety information to all levels of staff. Strong analytical skills for evaluating risks and implementing effective solutions. A proactive approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
